Lacquer chopsticks, as featured in the 2017 blog post 'My daughter chewed on it'.

They have been used for eight years and have peeled off considerably.
The gnawed parts are still firmly attached.

The time has finally come to put down the brush.

I want to present somewhere the work I have been working on for 20 years, since 1995.

To do this, I need to organise my materials and other information.

Book on rural life

manuscript
Before I left Johoji, a publisher offered me the opportunity to write a book. I was fascinated by the idea that if I did well, I might be able to get Writer Jakucho Setouchi to write an obi, so I decided to give it a try.

I wrote the book anyway, a manuscript of 102,232 words, or 256 pages of 400-character manuscript paper equivalent. When my wife read it to me before I presented it to the Writer Jakucho Setouchi, she said the beginning was not interesting, so she made some additions and corrections.

The Writer Jakucho Setouchi pointed out that 'you didn't write this whole manuscript’.
The project was dropped, but after this moment I decided that I had to produce all the lacquer art works myself.

Bowl

These dry-lacquer bowls were introduced in the blog post「Bowl」 on 20 March 2017.

This bowl was made in 2005 and started to be used the following year. The outside has not been repaired, but the inside bottom was damaged once and has been repaired.

The rim has cracked and has been repaired three times. These are the areas indicated by the arrows.
The same type of sap will give a natural colour finish after repair.

My idea is to repair it while retaining the used texture.
